Snowshoeing

29/07/2010 - Read 1590 times
The Jura Mountains are very suitable for hiking in snowshoes. The 16 paths are a real encouragement to go out and about, alone or with a guide, for half a day, a full day, or for an expedition lasting several days.

 Marked Snowshoeing Trails

From the snowy villages of the resort and the top of the lifts, snowshoers will find some marked and maintained paths.

They have been created for the natural beauty of the landscape, the security of walkers and respect for the fragile wildlife in the woods. They are monitored by the Réserve Naturelle de la Haute Chaîne du Jura.

Some areas are closed in winter, in order to protect the quiet that wildlife needs. Walkers can use the paths, without leaving them. On the summits, except in the forest, walkers can go freely.
