Pauline & Jean Charles the keepers of the refuge. Vistors can stay for one or several nights, for a whole stay or simply a good meal while climbing up to the famous Crêt de la Neige...
Located on the ski resort of Lélex, 1436m high, and 15 mn walking from the top of the cablecar of Catheline, the Refuge La Loge is open all year long (except from 1st may to the 7th june and from 26th october to 18th december)
In the summer, the refuge is on the way GR9, on the Grande Traversée du Jura (GTJ) and on the Balcon du Léman.
In the winter, it's on the marked snowshoe path to the Crêt de La Neige and the GTJ.
The atmosphere and comfort are rural (for the moment thanks to the renovation which is planed for 2010), but the refuge knows how to fulfil your needs of nature, conviviality, meeting other persons, discover the local products and meals...
The Refuge La Loge has a dormitory of 19 beds located upstairs (you can use the matresses and blankets, but have to bring sheets or sleeping bags), some wahbassins and toilets supplied by rain's water and snow thaw. Be careful : the refuge doesn't propose any drinking water nor showers... The refuge sell bottles of water and other drinks.
The keepers are doing the cooking, but you can also rent out the whole Refuge, and doing the cooking by yourself.

The Refuge La Loge is located in the Natural Reserve of the High Chain of Jura. Somme efforts are demanded to the visitors : Don't go there with dogs, even if it's chained, motorised engines can't go in, flowers prefer to be admired in its freshness and not picked, wastes have to stay in the bin and not in the nature...thank you to respect those recomendations. |
