Mountain biking

Mountain biking, another way to trek !

For all those who are keen on wide open spaces, from the Monts Jura to the Plateau de Retord, from the Valserine valley to the Pays de Gex, mountain bike paradise awaits you. Sporty holiday-makers will love riding down all types of paths, be they easy or steep. At Monts Jura, a 25 mile loop has been marked out for expert cyclists, starting from Lélex.

Special information for downhill mountain biking:

Downhill mountain biking starts by taking the ski lift, in Lélex " Catheline cable car " and in Crozet " Fierney cable car "; so you can reach the very top easily and quickly, and make the most of the trip back down!

For the time being, there are no official trails, but mountain bikers are allowed to ride down the footpaths, provided they give priority to walkers. Please remain extremely vigilant when riding on these footpaths.

Cable cars open during the summer on which mountain bikes are authorised:

  • LELEX - Catheline cable car : the mountain bikes are authorised.
  • CROZET - Fierney cable car : the mountain bikes are authorised.
  • LA FAUCILLE - Mont Rond cable car : the mountain bikes are authorised.

Didier Marinet is a professional state-certified instructor since 1988, and offers trips up in the air, accessible to all immediately, for sites ranging from 980 to 2,600 feet of altitude difference, depending on the weather conditions.

Flying in a two-person paraglider does not require any particular preparation beforehand, you just need ambition and a run-up for impulse. Paragliding will resume at the beginning of April.

Flying is possible for anyone, regardless of their age or size! (Parents' authorisation required for minors) Your flight time will depend on the rising air flows.
If you wish, you can ask to have a first flying lesson before setting your feet firmly back on the ground.

The main site used for flying is Sorgia located just above Bellegarde sur Valserine. It has a 2,600 foot altitude difference and has a 7.5 mile tarmac access route between the Confort landing site and the Charmante take-off site.

In the event of bad weather conditions at Sorgia (high North winds), flying is also possible
from the Port site, located just next to Nantua lake.

Single flight: €55

Video of the flight filmed by a camera fixed onto the pilot's helmet: €5
