Translation of the name: The Lake (there used to be a lake there)
Post code: 01410
Number of inhabitants: 229

The village of Lélex is nestled in the heart of the Valserine valley, the river that runs from Mijoux to Bellegarde-sur-Valserine. The village was the pioneer in mechanical ski-lifts, started in 1936, and became famous thanks to its winter sports. There was a great champion to represent the resort: Edgard Grospiron (gold medal for mogul skiing in 1992 in Albertville)

Skiing is currently at the heart of all activities in Lélex, but others have also been developed like hiking and electric bicycle rides thanks to the National Regional Park of the Haut Jura who set up a special path for this activity: Au Fil de La Valserine.

The cable car also operates during the summer so hikers or cyclists can reach the peaks more easily.

Village de Crozet

The village of Crozet is located on the other side of the mountain compared to Lélex, at the foot of the Pays de Gex plain. This town is relatively small, surrounded by meadows, farmland and large forests, and has managed to keep its village-like feel. The bucolic setting with a beautiful view over the Genevois, Salève and Mont-Blanc chain in the background attracts tourists and new inhabitants.

The cable car also operates during the summer so hikers or cyclists can reach the peaks more easily.
